Fantastic one night stay - we stayed in a room in the stable yard, converted stables/ stalls, super comfy bed. Delicious food in the restaurant in the evening, and lovely fresh breakfast options - great range of unusual seasonal fresh juices. Just all round super chilled vibes- definitely recommend. Great service from everyone from checking in, dinner to checking out the next day (which is unfortunately harder to find nowadays)

This was my third visit to The Pig at Combe and I am afraid I was really disappointed with the meal. The appetisers were not a sufficient amount for our large party. The starter of soup was very bland. Main course vegetables were also not in ample supply. And to top it off, I was able to pour my chocolate mousse dessert. Sadly, I will not be in a hurry to visit again.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Horse Box room in the old stables area. Was very quirky and a lovely big space with a separate sitting area. All staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We ate in the restaurant on one evening which was good and breakfast both mornings was excellent. Our first time with the Pig brand and we definitely will try some of the others based on this experience.

Sadly I just don’t really get the menu, really not inspiring at all and ridiculously over priced! £40 for one steak , a bag of lettuce and some chips?!! Didn’t have a starter as didn’t like the sound of any of it, puddings were not to my taste either. Lovely staff but sadly that was the only highlight.

We went to The Pig for Christmas Eve lunch as we live locally. We have been going to this venue for over 30+ years and the last time we went, June 24, we were worried that it had lost its sparkle! Sadly this visit would suggest it has, staff are good, location is superb but it just has not 'got it' anymore. What it can do is charge,£140 for lunch with no alcohol which is fine if the food is excellent, but it just isn't! Such a shame, as we said last time, Michelin prices but not food!.

Had a voucher for a three course meal for two as a gift. Went to the pig in December 24 as a birthday treat. Service great, but sat at a not very nice table in a dark corner. Really disappointed with the food as very average. Drinks relatively expensive. £200 for. Lunch for two. Sadly mediocre - wouldn’t return.

Had lunch in the restaurant. This isn't so much a country house hotel as a theme park. The dull drab atmosphere didn't appeal to us, perhaps the dull weather didn't help. Spacing of the tables was good but the restaurant was noisy and a bit on the cool side. The menu did not offer a huge choice and needed a bit of explaining regarding what was included in the starters regarding the price. The crockery was attractive but the cutlery was old fashioned, small and of poor quality. I had a nicely cooked pork chop but was puzzled why I was provided with a steak knife. Did they think it would be tough. There was nothing wrong with the meal but it wasn't inspiring. For the same money could have had a pub meal with more originality. The service was good although our bread was forgotten till I asked where it was.

The best service I think I have ever experienced. From arrival to departure, staff were attentive, polite, interested, knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, we were there spending a voucher we’d been bought for our recent wedding, every member of staff we encountered congratulated us, which I thought was a lovely touch. We really were made to feel very special, and utterly delighted to receive an incredible room upgrade to ‘The Horsebox’ room, quite possibly, the most unique room I have ever stayed in. The food was amazing, and the place itself is spectacular. My one regret, is that we were only there for the one night on a flying visit between other stops, but I can’t wait to go back again!

A magnificent Country House Hotel with a good restaurant for both Dinner and Breakfast. Our room was large, well appointed and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Dinner menu was somewhat eclectic but the food was good and the dining room itself was a splendid place to eat, if a little noisy at times.
